In accordance with Decree №1412 of 25 August 2021 adopted by the Government of the RF, the duration of stay in Russia on a multiple-entry visa for close relatives of Russian citizens will be increased to one year. This will come into force from 01 September 2021. These new amendments were made in accordance with the amendments to the Law on Entry and Exit Regulations of the Russian Federation adopted in July.
According to the new version of the visa regulations, an ordinary private visa for close relatives can be single- or double-entry for up to three months or multiple-entry for up to one year. More precisely, close relatives include spouses, parents and adoptive parents, children and spouses of children, siblings, grandparents and grandchildren.
In addition, as stated in the document, foreigners coming to Russia for medical treatment and their accompanying persons are provided with business visa for up to one year. Previously, the total period of stay of foreigners in Russia on a multiple-entry visa may not exceed 90 days during each period of 180 days.
